Step 3 of 6 - calibrating your knapsack sprayer for pesticide dose and spray mix/water volume

You are advised to check your nozzles when you check your knapsack sprayer but now is a good time to make one final check of the nozzle’s condition

and to check the flow rate.

The chart tells us that the flow rate of the nozzle in this example, should emit 600 ml in one minute when spraying at 3 bars.

To check the nozzle’s flow rate, spray the water at the pressure you practiced, into a suitable container for one minute exactly.

Then check the volume. If your nozzle emits too little water then raise the pressure by pumping harder and/or quicker. If too much liquid is emitted then slow down your pumping rate.

Practice until you get your intended nozzle emission correct consistently.

This nozzle has emitted 600 ml and as it is not worn or damaged, is now ready for use.
